LIFE IS FUNNER IN THE SUMMER

Here’s a little video of us doing an acoustic version of Advice in the lovely countryside. Enjoy! ML x

THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD

Hello all, hope you’re enjoying the sunshine! We’ve just got back from our little tour round the UK, so we thought we’d share some of the highlights incase you missed out.

First off was Glasgow at Nice n’ Sleazy’s.

Kez’s family and friends popped down, and Moa was amazed how everything was deep fried. Unfortunately she never got her deep fried mars bar. There’s always next time…

Next up was Manchester and the Night and Day cafe. The venue and crowd were great. Anna had a very unique key board stand. A new addition to the BAAAA-nd (excuse the awful sheep pun)

We went out after until the early hours and needless to say we had a few too many, as this photo proves…

The day after we were all feeling a little worse for wear, but that’s nothing a little countryside can’t fix! We went hiking up a hill somewhere in Yorkshire, the sights were beautiful. Just what we needed.

Then it was off to Leeds and Carpe Diem, where despite feeling a little delicate we played a great show to another wicked crowd.

And finally it was back to London to play a little end of tour gig at the Wheelbarrow in Camden!

We had an amazing time on tour, thanks to everyone who helped us out or came down to the shows, it’s much appreciated. Next gig, THE O2 ISLINGTON THIS SATURDAY!! See our Facebook for details. ML xx

THIS MONTH, WE HAVE MOSTLY BEEN…

…hitting up a couple of festivals –  Strawberry Fields was sweet like tropicana… Moa bought a pink fluffy hat which was promptly lost under a bumper car (RIP); we dragged along a few new additions to the band (mainly hairy blokes, hi Al, Jordan and Chris, but also pretty girsl, hi Anna and Kez); Gavin got a some would say ill-advised weave in his hair; and we gave the new tour bus/baked bean tin a test drive: it survived.

If you haven’t yet managed to catch our new lineup then watch this space for details of our September tour, to be announced soon!

BACK TO LIFE, BACK TO REALITY, BACK TO THE HERE AND NOW (YEAH)

So we’ve been on a wee hiatus, doing a bit of gigging, some festivals and revamping our sound a little bit (don’t worry all the old favourites are still there)… As you may have noticed we’ve also invited a couple of newbies to join us. If you’re bored you can find an old photo of the band and play spot the difference.

OR if you fancy venturing out into the big wide world then join us at 93 Feet East on Friday 3rd August for Back To The Future alongside Mavis and Zen Arcade. It’s FREE ENTRY and it’s gonna be big!

See you there kids…

SUMMERTIME AND THE GIGGIN’ IS EASY

Daddy not rich? Momma not good looking? Ah well at least the gigging is easy this summertime – we’ve just announced a whole heap of summer dates, check out full listings below or over on our LIVE page…

We’re super excited to be teaming up with the brilliant Drag Your Heels once again, this time embarking on a mini tour of oop north with them, PLUS in more southerly goings on (oo-er) we’re supporting none other than Drew Mcconnell of Babyshambles fame + very special guest at the most feel good venue in the world, charity-run pub The White Lion.

PLUS for all you Londoners out there – sorry to have neglected you in recent times but rest assured we’ll be back to our roots with playing Back to the Future at 93 Feet East in early August… Gavin will probably crack out his cockney accent on stage in celebration (come on, we’ve all heard him go a bit Dick Van Dyke “ALLO BOYS AN GIRLS!!”)…

OH MY GOD THE MOLLY’S LIPPS MOVIE TRAILER IS HERE…

Check out the trailer for our new film MOLLY’S LIPPS: SEXUALLY FRUSTRATED & HUNGRY FOR CHICKEN. We’re soooooooooooooo excited to show it to you at last, and even more excited to announce that if this little taster isn’t enough then you can eat the whole goddamn pie / watch the whole goddamn film at our screening at the end of the month. Details are to be confirmed but drop us a line here if you’d like an invite.

In a sentiment akin to that behind John Lennon’s “bigger than Jesus” blasphemy, we’re pretty sure it’ll be better than Prometheus. There, we said it.

We are also unbelievably thankful to the talented, rum swigging, Nelly-loving James Lyndon and Worn & Torn Films.

HATTON CROSS: THE ACOUSTIC SESSIONS PT.I

When we rocked up at The Green Man, Hatton Cross and saw it was pretty much like a Harvester or Wetherspoons, we were a tad worried our unique brand of grunge-synth goodness would go down like the proverbial cold cup of sick. 5 amps and a full drumkit on the stage (read: in front of the fireplace alongside the diners) were going to blow the roof off.

However, to misquote Forrest Gump, momma always said you shouldn’t judge a book/watering hole by it’s cover/quiet ambience and this proved very true: the gig went down rather well and afterwards we treated the assembled crowd to acoustic renditions of Say You’ll Be There and Coffee & TV (with Rory on the salt and pepper shakers and Moa on spoons).

Even our film director James proved that his musical prowess wasn’t just limited to tour bus singalongs and hit us with a little uh-uh in the form of Nelly’s Hot in Herre… video to follow.

EDIT: Shout out to the fabulous Chloe and her mum, two of the best fans a band could wish for who by now will be back in (sunny?) Canada!

KISS KISS MOLLY’S STICKS

Things to do when bored on a tour bus: breadstick friends!

Clockwise from the one that is obviously Fabio avec drumsticks, we have Natalie, Moa, Sam, Rory, Gavin, PR extraordinaire Imogen, filmmaker extraordinaire James, and session keys player extraordinaire Jade. Nice drawing skillz Moa!

HOME, HOME ON THE RANGE

After our Hatton Cross gig (in a restaurant – more on that later) last night, we stayed at casa del bowers with Gavin’s mum and dad. Thanks to Gary for the breakfast of kings this morning and to Lyn for safely manoeuvring the tour bus down the driveway and general band mum duties! Xx
