DRINKIN’ SHOOTIN’ VOGUIN’

The keen-eyed and astute among you may have noticed we’ve had a few new mugshots taken recently… Full set coming soon to the gallery, for now feast your eyes on the tour flyer and these behind the scenes pictures which will probably make you feel all dirty and voyeuristic…

Things we learnt during the shoot (in no particular order): Moa can work it better than Missy Elliot, Sam is big pimpin’, we’re all probably anaemic. Nah not really, our red blood cells are just fine – it’s just the moody, washed out effect we were after.

Cheers to photographer extraordinaire Nick Miners, cheers to stylist Imogen Excell, cheers to The Twenty Seven Club for the clothes, and cheers to The Red Lion Hoxton for hosting us.

WE’RE GOING ON TOUR!!!

Pretty self explanatory, this one. Flyer design by Imogen Excell, photography by Nick Miners.

SORRY FOR PARTY ROCKING

A few pictures from our first gig  - more over on the gallery and once our errant friends have finished photoshopping themselves to look ten times better than anyone else in their pictures of the big night, we’ll be putting them up on here too. In the meantime…

Big up to this guy, Johnny Snowboard aka Rory aka the guy who was in intensive care a mere week before coming onstage. He did us all proud!

So turns out roofspace is at a premium in the basement of the Shoreditch – good job Moa’s heels weren’t any higher and that Sam has perfected a casually insouciant slouch otherwise there’d have been concussion all round up at their end of the stage.

Get money, fuck bitches? Or alternatively, get  door money and get stalked by the mysteriously spotlit, pink-haired Danny.

So a lot of you have been wondering about Sam’s nationality after we mistakenly named him as Canadian. Now we know he spent a large part of his childhood in San Francisco after he developed a borderline obsessive relationship with this globe on a stick at the afterparty.

Oh and then there was this party rocker (in joke).

FIRST GIG: SYMPTOMATIC PRESENTS… AT THE SHOREDITCH

HUGE thanks to everyone who came to our first gig last night, we had a wicked time and now we’re even more excited for our tour in April – more news on that soon.

Check out the gallery for some pictures of the night – more coming soon and all the afterparty gossip too.

GETTING GIGGY WITH IT

T minus 24 hours till our first London gig, we’re on the bill with this lady, these guys and these guys! Plus we are djing afterwards and if you buy us a drink we might invite you back to the afterparty because we’re generous like that. Be there or be square bitches.

MISSING RORY

Yeah, so last night at rehearsal we were pining a little for the missing piece in the Molly’s Lipps jigsaw, and thus, this charming homage was born…

ICE ICE BABY

A bit of musical geekery for you: what do Jeff Beck’s fingers, Keith Richard’s hands and Bruce Springstein’s voice have in common?

Answer: they’ve all been insured for rid-ic-u-lous sums of money lest catastrophe/kitchen knives/tonsilitis ever strike. We used to think that this was a bit of a wankerish thing to do, however recent events have forced us to rethink our ideas and look into spleen insurance…

One morning last week Gavin woke up to a text from Rory, who’s been snowboarding in France, saying he was in intensive care having ruptured his spleen on the slopes. Ouch. Rory being the pillar of manly stoicism that he is, insists he will be up and about and back on home turf in time to make the gig at The Shoreditch on March 15th. Double thumbs up to that! Get well soon Rors x

PS. bet the accident happened because he was thinking of stupid sexy Flanders…
